In today’s economy, vehicle theft and vandalism is on the rise, and if you are anything like me, my cars are my prized possessions. Not only are our vehicles important to us, but now more than ever, the items we leave in our cars are important as well. The laptop computers, iPods and mobile phones that are left in our cars have become a second windfall for professional auto thieves and criminal opportunists alike. With countless hours and money invested into our dream machines, the thought of our vehicles being tampered with or even stolen can be enough to make any hardcore auto enthusiast break into a cold sweat.
However, there is great news for those of us that see the value in protecting our vehicles along with our gear inside. With use of the Internet and 21st Century technology, there are exciting new ways to keep our automotive investment and even our families that travel in them safe. The most exciting development in automotive security has to be GPS vehicle tracking. With a professionally installed GPS tracking device, when the vehicle is moved, opened, or in anyway tampered with, owners are notified via email or text message. Vehicle owners can then log on to the web, at anytime, and pinpoint the exact location of their vehicle anywhere in the world. This can really help aid in a speedy recovery of a stolen vehicle and the personal belongings inside. Through the Internet, owners can track vehicle movement. Users can even set up a geographical boundary around the vehicle and have a text message or email sent to them if their vehicles move outside a predetermined area. Not only is this an excellent way to keep our vehicles secure, GPS tracking is a great way of keeping tabs on younger drivers and loved ones.
The newest tool in vehicle security comes in the form of our mobile phones. During an age where our mobile phones have become handheld computers and personal assistants, it was only a matter of time before the merging of phone and vehicle technology. Imagine, no more carrying car alarm or keyless entry remotes. How about starting your vehicles engine, locking and unlocking doors, etc, from anywhere in the world with the press of a button on your mobile phone? With downloadable phone apps and a compatible, professionally installed vehicle security system, this becomes a reality. Now our mobile phones have yet another great feature!
In Southern California, we love our cars. As with anything else we love, making every attempt possible to protect our vehicles and our families should be of high priority. With these new advancements in vehicle security, greater peace of mind is literally at our fingertips.
