Anybody ever heard of this problem?
997 Turbo TIP. Turn the key, foot on the brake . . . everything lights up except for the engine. 2nd time in the shop, Porsche has no idea what
the problem is.

Damian is great. If he says he can fix it, I'd trust him. You know this wouldn't have happened if you bought a dependable car like a Ferrari. ;)

You should invite Peter (Porsche) to join. It would probably be good for the board and for Peter since Peter is a big exec at Porsche.

Per Porsche . . . starter harness bolt missing. They believe this
is the problem.

Sounds plausible. Now you just have to find out who stole it. :D

The car is, as we speak, being flat bedded back to Porsche. First it was a missing vacumn, then a starter harness not grouded issue, then they put in a new starter. Car wouldn't start this morning after getting it back yesterday. Frank, let me know if I left anything out.
Maybe you should buy something dependable like a Ferrari? ;)

According to Porsche, they now believe the problem has to do with the connections to the junction block where the starter leaves the solenoid? Honestly, I don't think have any idea what's wrong with it. The case is now in Atlanta. One of the execs I've been dealing with at Porsche has been pretty cool to deal with so far . . . they may launch a special edition Carrera in '09 MrFrank S
