What is the goal of the mission statement of the Red Line Corvettes?
Mission Statement (from our By-Laws)
To promote interest and fellowship for membership (owners of Corvettes) of the club. To assist the community, including the General Public, the Press, Local and State Law Enforcement Agencies with fund-raising events for the benefit of charitable organizations. To promote safety and interest in the ownership of Corvettes.
How many members do you have?
Membership the last two years has been almost identical at 150. What has dramatically changed is that we're now up to 126 cars. In the past, the rule of thumb was one car per two members, which would be 75 cars. Now there are many more members owning multiple Corvettes.
Why would a Corvette enthusiast want to join Red Line?
This could conceivably be the finest Corvette club in America, and perhaps even on the planet! The critical stress on camaraderie and friendliness; the breath and scope of activities addressing the diversity of interests reflected by our members; the remarkable mechanisms of communication reflected in our Weekly Update, Newsletter and professional website; and the organizational strength and commitment of the leadership combine with the advantages of our location in Southern California to make this the unrivaled leader in Corvette Clubs.
What makes you most proud of the club?
That's an easy question, it's the members. It may be a statistical .uke, but somehow we've attracted excellent people, and consistently so. With that solid membership I've marveled at the level of support for such activities as Motor 4Toys, the Swat Team Fund Raiser, our September car show funding of the Hospice of the Conejo and police explorer program, etc. Also impressive is support for weekly activities like our regular Saturday club breakfast, which on occasion has drawn nearly as many people as our monthly club meetings. There is much about this club to be proud of and space limits the litany of other examples.
When was the club started?
The club was founded in the fall of 1990 with 12 adults and 4 toddlers.
Is there a Corvette that stands out from the rest in the club?
With 126 Corvettes, this is almost like debating good architecture. If you like it, it's good. We have an award winning 1954 6 cyl. classic and some 2010 ZR1 638 hp supercharged Corvettes and everything else in between. Sorry, no such car.
Do you have regular meetings?
We meet the 2nd Tuesday of each month at the Thousand Oaks Inn grand ballroom. A discounted buffet dinner precedes the meeting for those wanting to eat. Guests are always welcome.
