Big Wedneday: A Car Meet Unlike Any Other

We have all heard the expression, “If you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all.” Now while this adage holds true for Jean-Claude Van Damme movies, it is usually also the case for car meets. When you go to a car meet it is generally a fairly cold experience – people standing near their cars or just walking around looking at other cars. But the guys over at World Class Motoring in Agoura Hills, CA have found the key element to breaking the mold of the traditional car meet – atmosphere. Not satisfied with mediocrity, they have succeeded in creating one of the most unique and sociable car meet experiences around with an event they call “Big Wednesday.”

Pulling into WCM you immediately get the sense that this is not your typical get-together.  All of the trees are wrapped in party lighting, there are rows of tables and chairs for relaxing (with canopies and misters when it is hot), and then there is the food and music. At every meet, Willy’s Smokehouse offers a mouth-watering BBQ dinner with the band Wild Horse providing a great selection of music to enhance the atmosphere. All of these things combine to help create an un-stereotypically social, and very welcome, setting for their meet.

But the fun and festivities aren’t confined just to the parking lot. Venturing inside of World Class, you will .nd their full-motion racing simulator complete withpanoramic screens, hydraulically actuated seat, and fullsurround sound – one of the most advanced and realistic simulators out there – and every month they choose adifferent car and track combination for a time-attack contest. But this contest serves a dual purpose. Not onlydoes it provide another form of social interaction for themeet’s attendees, but it is also a fundraiser for charity.  Each month World Class chooses a different charity and for a $5 donation, racers get 5 laps to set their best timewith the top 3 times getting a .ag on the .ag-pole outsideand the top time also receiving a $20 gift certi.cate.So be sure not to miss out on truly one of the most uniqueautomotive experiences in Southern California and headout to World Class Motoring on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month during the summer months and join in thefun.
